At the Center for Hormone Therapy, we have every patient measure their pH. pH is a measure of the degree of acidity or alkalinity in your body. Just as acid rain can destroy a forest and alkaline wastes can pollute a lake, and imbalanced pH continuously corrodes all body tissue, slowly eating into the 60,000 miles of our veins and arteries like corrosives eating into marble! It is critical for overall well-being to have a neutral pH i.e. in the range of 6.8 to 7.2, but it is even more important when dealing with hormonal imbalances.
Because of the Standard American Diet (SAD), most of the patients we see are far too acidic to be healthy, and this not only affects their hormone levels—it also affects things such as the following:
After measuring your pH, we will advise you on exactly how to raise your pH levels in to the healthy range. This then allows your hormones a better chance of becoming balanced.
One important sign: if you are too acidic, you will be what we call “oxygen-deprived.” In other words, too much acid built up in your system will make it so that you have less oxygen to use. If you are one that goes around all day yawning, this is a sign that your body is telling you that you need more oxygen, thus a good indication that you are too acidic.
Until you get your pH balanced, your overall health will suffer.
