Mood Swings
Would you believe that of all the women that visit our clinic for natural hormone therapy, 72% of these women are taking antidepressants drugs! Mood swings are a sign that a woman’s hormone levels are out of balance. PMS (pre-menstrual syndrome) is almost always a sign that her hormones are low, especially a hormone called progesterone. If progesterone is low (which can be checked very easily) she can experience huge mood swings, insomnia, crying spells, heavy menstrual periods, anxiety and panic attacks.
Estrogen is known as the female hormone; however, too much of it can make you edgy and irritable. We call this "estrogen dominance" and it means you have too much estrogen and not enough progesterone. These hormones act in concert with one another - the yin and yang of hormonal harmony, if you will. Proper balance is critical. An imbalance can lead to mood swings, severe menstrual problems, and insomnia. And sometimes even divorce! We have seen more than one couple that told us this was the final stop before the divorce lawyer. We laugh sometimes, but these forces are truly not funny when they destroy relationships and splinter families.
We feel strongly about the fact that women taking antidepressants need hormone balancing, and very seldom do they need to be medicated, especially to the extent that they are today.
If you are experiencing any of these problems please schedule a Personalized Hormone Audit to see how we can help you. |
